Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data WedQuiz collects, what we use it for, and what rights you have over it. It's written in plain language on purpose: if anything is unclear, write to us at hola@wedquiz.app.

Who is responsible for your data?

Joan Oliver Mayol, contactable at hola@wedquiz.app, is responsible for processing the personal data collected through WedQuiz.

What data do we collect, and from whom?

WedQuiz processes data from two different types of people:

From the couple organizing the wedding:

• You don't create an account or give us your email: the app identifies you through a code generated on your own phone.
• The content you create: the couple's names, the wedding date, the questions, the answers (including which one is correct), and any images you upload for the quiz. These images are stored with public link access, so guests can view them without needing an account.
• If you buy the paid unlock, the purchase is handled by Google Play or the App Store (depending on your phone) through RevenueCat; WedQuiz never sees or stores your card number.

From each guest:

• The name they enter when joining a quiz. No email is requested and no account is created.
• The answers they give and their score in the game.

What do we use your data for?

• To create and display the quiz to guests.
• To calculate and display the live ranking.
• To process the purchase of the unlock, if you choose to make it.
• To keep the application running securely (preventing abuse, debugging errors).

We do not use your data for advertising purposes, nor do we sell it to third parties. WedQuiz has no analytics or third-party trackers.

Who do we share data with?

We use external providers to operate the service, who process data on our behalf under their own security guarantees:

• Supabase — hosts the database and the images uploaded to quizzes.
• RevenueCat, together with Google Play and/or the App Store — handle the purchase of the unlock, if you make it. WedQuiz never accesses or stores your card number.
• Vercel — hosts this website.

These providers may host data outside the European Economic Area; in that case, they rely on standard contractual clauses or other transfer mechanisms recognized under the GDPR.

How long do we keep the data?

We keep an event's data and its guests' data for as long as that event still exists in the app. If you'd like us to delete an event and its guests' data sooner, write to us at hola@wedquiz.app and we'll do it for you.

What are your rights?

You can request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability or objection to the processing of your data by writing to hola@wedquiz.app. You also have the right to file a complaint with your national data protection authority (in Spain, the AEPD, aepd.es).

Minors

WedQuiz is not directed at minors under 16. If you're a wedding guest and a minor, please ask your legal guardian for permission before participating.

Security

All communication with WedQuiz is encrypted (HTTPS). Editing an event requires the code generated on your own phone, which only you have. The quiz and its images are accessible via a public link, so guests can join and play without needing an account.

Changes to this policy

If we make significant updates to this policy, we will indicate it on this same page along with the date of the last update.
